But I still do it. I still feel compelled to write. It's just I find it very difficult to sit and actually put words on paper. That's why I'm writing this. I'm hoping somehow by putting my words on paper, it'll motivate me to do the writing I want to do. I was just watching an interview with Sylvester Stallone:
And he said something which resonated with me: Writing is a miserable process. You like the end result but the process is miserable.
It is so true. Whenever I sit down to write my next script, I try and find every single possible reason not to do it. I go on youtube. I look at movies I have done before. Anything to get away from the torture of sitting in front of an empty screen and putting words there.
I really need to develop a better habit for writing. Dedicate a time of my day where there is no distraction. Consistent. Regular. Routine. Even if I don't endup writing a single word, but that time should only be for writing. Not for anything else. Like I said, even if I don't write a single word, I wouldn't be spending (or waste) this time on something else.
The question is when? When is a good time to write? It has to be in the middle of the day. Maybe even from 12-1pm. A time when my kids around around to bug me.
I'm hoping with my new job, since I'm working with people on the East Coast, then I can start early, 6am my time 9am their time and I would end early: 2pm. This way I have more alone time to just put down towards writing.
Let's see if I end up doing that.
