We're living through the covid pandemic and I'm witnessing authority gone amok. I want to put my thoughts on paper in an attempt to justify my own thoughts; work through them and see if I'm just being a "conspiracy theorist", if there is such a thing anymore.
How did this whole thing start. It started in the last year of Trump's presidency. Is it specifically related to him? I don't have an absolute answer to that, but it seems increasingly likely, based on the extreme media attack on him. I listened to the guy. He's words are not always the best, but the over reaction seems extreme.
However, this is not my topic. I'm not here to talk about Trump. I'm here to talk about the government reaction to the pandemic.
Now, I'm not a government employee... well actually I do work for the US government now, but not at a high enough level to have an understanding of what exactly goes on.
This actually raises a good question. As you "average joe", what type of authority do I give the government?
Let's keep that question on the back burner for now. I'd like to first excercise my memory and write down the reaction of the government to the pandemic up until now:
- 15 days to flatten the curve
- School closures
- Masks
- More school closures due to other waves
- continuous bombardment by the media about the dangerousness of the disease
- The silencing of critical information about drugs that could help in some cases. The lid on this was blown wide open, specifically when Trump talked about Hydroxycloroquin. This became even more obvious later on with ivermectin. Some doctors like Robert Malone, Peter A. McCullough asserted that possible early treatment which could've helped greatly has been squashed by the media and the government. You gotta ask why? Even if it helps in 10% of the cases and doesn't cause any adverse events in people, why not use it? This in itself is crazy to me.
- Vaccines
- Claims that they will not mandate the vaccines
- Then they mandate the vacines
- They impose vaccine passports
- They enforce vaccine passports at restaurants and public events
- They fire federal employees who are not vaccinated.
- They claim that the unvaccinated are a threat to society
- The prime minister calls them racist and misogynists.
- They continue pushing boosters
- Omicron arrives and all evidence shows that it spreads fast and is mild
- Some comentators suspect it's the end of the pandemic
- Media goes into hyperdrive talking about how Omicron will destroy people and encourage people to take more boosters in order to help against Omicron. It's worth noting that the vaccine wasn't designed for Omicron which is quiet a bit different. So why take the boosters
- Omicorn shows that it escapes the vaccines. So whether vaccinated or unvaccinated you are likely to spread the disease.
- The government continous on segregating society
- They remove the exemptions on Religious gathering. Now they require them to check vaccine passports to have 100% capacity.
- They have more school closures
- They demand masks for kids.
- There are no studies (at least publicised) about the long term dangers of lockdowns and mandates.
This seems to me like authority gone amok. And what is very surprising to me is how many people are just going along and feeling helpless. I think this is a result of people not really bothering to dig deep enough. Others are just too busy with their lives to be bothered. But the lack of interest in having a dialogue and the willingness to follow what the "experts" say without a moment's thought seems incredibly unbelievable to me.
The idea that we have to follow the experts and erase our own minds is a plague. It's clearly shown in the church. We have to follow what the priests says and call it a day. Don't question. And if you question, then you're a trouble maker who wants to disturb the peace. Now apply this to the entirety of society, what do you get?
You get tyranny.
You get marginalisation of a group of people who question the status quo.
I was listening to an interview with Anthony Fauci. Hey boils down people's problems with having the vaccine to them "wanting to express" their individuality. How absurd is this? To ridicule people he says that they really have no point. They are like childrent rebelling against their parents, who know better, and want the best for them. They just want to prove that no one can tell them what to do. All other arguments brought forth about the efficacy of the vaccine and other un answered questions, are just nothing. They don't count. See how the dehumanise the other. They claim they are just ignorant idiots who are throwing a tantrum. They can just express their individuality by buying a t-shirt.
You know one side of me says, if you just go along with this, get the vaccine, get the vaccine passport and shit like that, then you can go on with your life and no one will bother you. But another part of me knows that this is not true. Once you give in to this, they'll ask for more and more. Case in point: People who are vaccinated are still required to do a test, they are still required to wear masks, they are still required to show their vaccine passports. What the actual FUCK?
Authority gone amok.
They are basically telling people you can't think of yourself and you have to do what we tell you to do, even though there is plenty of evidence to prove that the approach they took is bad.
The counter argument is, if we didn't do the lockdowns, if we didn't do the school closures, if we didn't mandate the vaccines, then it would've been worse.
The problem is there are people who are saying that's not true.
And their arguments are convincing.
Why isn't there a televised debate talking about this? Bring both points of view together. The only reason not to do that is because they don't want the other opinion displayed, because they think the sheeple can't think for themselves and must be told what to think.
This has become an absolute religious stand. Religion is the only other thing that does that. It tries to stop the other point of view in favour of the "divinely" inspired behavior.
An example of that is "Confession". The idea that only through a priest is forgiveness of sin acquired. You don't know how much of a heart and brain ache this causes. The more you look at people as these ideal heroes who can do no wrong, the more of a problem you'll get yourself into. Because these "heroes" want you to stop thinking and just follow what they have to say, because they think they know best. And if you go against them, they'll label you as anything to demean you. In the religious context, they'll label you a heretic. In the context of covid above, they'll call you a science-denier, anti-vaxx, and any other bullshit term they can come up with to dehumanize you and make sure other people attack you.
So yes, Authority has gone amok, and I don't see any evidence to the contrary.
You know what, I'd love to be proven wrong. I'd love to wake up tomorrow and see that everything has returned to normal. There are no more vaccine mandates or passports, no more mask mandates. No more crack down and marginalisation of people based on their decisions. But I just don't see things correcting themselves by themselves. There will need to be an offence mounted against this type of tyranny or it will never stop.
Things are returning back to "normal" despite the government's best efforts. Let's look at the events up until now:
- There are a whole bunch of demonstrations throughout the country objecting on the COVID-19 restrictions
- These culminate into the trucker's protest
- Before they even arrive at Ottawa, they are labelled racist, mysogenists, "A fringe minority with unacceptable views": https://thepostmillennial.com/trudeau-says-freedom-truckers-a-small-fringe-minority-with-unacceptable-views
- The freedom demonstration goes on for 3 weeks
- There are border blockades
- It's covered by citizen journalists
- There is hardly any violence
- Prime Minister enacts the Emergency Act
- he lies that the police requested it while they didn't
- They call in the police and they kick the truckers out
- Negative international publicity on the liberal government
- The conservative leader at the time (O'Tool) steps down
- Pierre Polievre is voted in the conservative leadership by a large margin
- Pierre takes on freedom as his calling card and makes "Make Canada the freest country" as his mantra
- He doesn't condemn the truckers at large
- There are lawsuites at the highest court against the government for the restrictions they applied during the "pandemic"
- Government stops renewing the restrictions
- They file motion to declare these lawsuites moot
- It's incredibly difficult to find any information on the lawsuite
- Air canada declares travel restricitons unscientific
